I’m Megan — certified in Aromatherapy, certified in Clinical Aromatherapy, and currently working toward board certification as an Integrative Health Practitioner. FAQ's

What is a clinical aromatherapist?

A clinical aromatherapist is trained in the safe, evidence-based use of essential oils to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Unlike hobby or retail aromatherapy, clinical aromatherapy is rooted in anatomy, physiology, and the chemistry of essential oils.

What’s the difference between a certified and clinical aromatherapist?

All clinical aromatherapists are certified, but not all certified aromatherapists have clinical training. “Clinical” typically means advanced education (400+ hours) in health sciences and hands-on experience using essential oils in therapeutic or healthcare settings.

What kind of training do you need?

Clinical aromatherapists complete extensive coursework in anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, along with studies in essential oil chemistry, safety, and application methods. Many pursue certification through professional organizations like the NAHA or AIA, and may become Registered Aromatherapists (RA™) through the Aromatherapy Registration Council.

How can aromatherapy help me?

Clinical aromatherapy can support stress relief, sleep, pain, skin health, nausea, focus, and overall emotional balance. Each blend is customized to your specific goals and needs.

Are essential oils safe?

Yes — when used correctly. Essential oils are highly concentrated and must be diluted and applied appropriately. As a clinical aromatherapist, I follow evidence-based safety guidelines to ensure each blend is both effective and safe for you.

What happens during a consultation?

You’ll complete a detailed health intake form, and we’ll discuss your goals, lifestyle, and any medical considerations. From there, I’ll create a personalized blend or plan and guide you on safe use and application.

Do you replace medical treatment?

No. Aromatherapy is a complementary therapy, not a replacement for medical care. It’s designed to support your overall wellness and can often be used alongside other treatments under your provider’s guidance.

Is my personal health information confidential?

Yes. All information you share with me — including your health history, medications, symptoms, concerns, or personal details — is kept strictly confidential. As a Clinical Aromatherapist, I follow professional privacy standards that align with HIPAA principles. Your information is never shared, sold, or discussed with anyone outside of your consultation.

Your wellness, safety, and privacy are always protected.
